Less is More – Don’t Try to Cover Everything

Are you more likely to read something that looks like this?

Or this?

Exactly!  We’ve grown accustomed to short, get-your-attention ad copy that quickly gets to the point.  Our attention spans have decreased while competition for gaining a consumer’s attention has drastically increased.

Bullet points are gold.  That’s why you use them in a resume.  They’re designed to highlight the most important details, characteristics, or accomplishments.  Grab the reader’s attention and get them wanting to know more.  You’re not trying to cover every aspect of your product or service.  You want them to contact you for more information.

So don’t bore them with paragraphs of information.  They’ll swipe next or scroll down and dismiss you before you even make it to your attempted “contact me for more information” plea.

Keep it short and happy marketing!
